The Sauce Method
Creaminess isn't indulgence. It's structure.
Welcome friends.
I created another guide for you! Last week we talked about the Texture Method — the five pillars that bring balance and contrast to a dish. This week we’re building on that idea with another tool I return to constantly: sauce.
One of the simplest ways I elevate a dish is by adding something creamy. A good sauce softens the edges, ties the textures together, and makes everything feel just a little more satisfying — the way it often does at a great restaurant. When I build a sauce, I usually think in terms of four elements: a base, a little fat when needed, something acidic, and a layer of flavor.
This guide shares five simple sauces I return to constantly. Keep it nearby, play with it, and let it change the way you finish a plate. xo
As always — if you apply this framework to something you’re cooking, I’d love to hear what you’re making. And if anything feels unclear, hit reply and tell me what’s on your plate — I read every message.
Build Boldy. Finish Bright.
